The basic functionality includes tools for sorting and ranking on the basis of performance, assets, strategy, track record duration, regional investment focus, management firm location or fund domicile. More important, while our raw-data files are updated 3-times per month, HFRDatabase.com is updated on a daily basis.

HFR tracking UCITS III Hedge Funds in HFR Database

More than 300 hedge fund offerings now comply with UCITS III guidelines, reflecting the continued evolution of the industry to meet institutional investor standards, according to Hedge Fund Research Inc., the leading provider of data and analysis of the hedge fund industry. That number has grown rapidly in the last 18-24 months, before which time few hedge funds offered UCITS III products to investors. Total hedge fund assets under management in UCITS III-compliant funds now exceed $35 billion, a figure that is likely to continue to grow in the near future.

The Data
The licensed/redistributed HFR Database, currently comprised of over 6500 funds and fund of funds, is available to all accredited investors. Information on our hedge fund universe of established and emerging managers is collected directly from the fund managers and/or their respective offshore administrators, while other pertinent information is culled from offering memoranda, onsite visits, and due diligence interviews.
HFR Database is the foundation for the HFRI Indices, the industry's most widely utilized benchmark of hedge fund performance information. The HFRI Fund Weighted Composite alone is comprised of over 2000 funds from our database universe. Please refer to our Strategy Definitions for an understanding of the breadth of information available in HFR Database.
Our staff
Hedge Fund Research believes that accurate information on fund managers is critical to any alternative investment enterprise. To that end, our analysts have monitored and tracked performance and administrative data internally on over 11,000 domestic and international funds, offering comprehensive information not available from other commercial data providers.

HFR Database is updated three times per month. Each update includes fresh fund information, recently submitted by a broad spectrum of funds. New fund data is added by HFR staff or by the fund managers themselves. We do not work with third party data providers

HFR requests that our client fund managers report performance by the 15th of each month. We also directly integrate the fund manager with HFR Database by providing them with their own website for updating their fund profile. In this manner HFR ensures current and accurate fund data that flows seamlessly from fund managers to subscribers.
